  1. Children should identify this as a miracle of Jesus.
  2. Children should know the little boy shared 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
  3. Children should know that Jesus fed 5000 people after blessing the food.

Feeding of 5000

  • Collect food for the needy and bring to Church School.
  • Learn Grace Before Meals – music included.
  • Try a new food; explain how it grows and is prepared.
  • Have a lunch of bread and fish, tasty?
  • Bake bread or Prosphora together.
  • When shopping, talk about the different types of food.
  • Read the story at bedtime each night.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, Give us this day our daily bread.  Amen.

  • Place the icon of the feast in a prominent place in the home.
  • Make a fruit basket and deliver to a shut-in.
  • Read the story at bedtime each night.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, you who were transfigured on the Mount Tabor, save us who sing to you. Alleluia. Amen.
