Flight to Egypt

 

Home Activities:

  • Tell the story of Mary and Joseph going to Egypt.  What did they take along? How old was Jesus? What did the donkey look like?
  • Visit a donkey at a petting zoo.
  • Show your child pictures of Egypt—the pyramids, the Sphinx, were already there when Jesus went to Egypt.
  • Let your child help “plan a trip” together – grocery shopping, running an errand, going to the zoo.  Compare to Jesus’s trip to Egypt.
  • Puzzle.
  • Read the story at bedtime each night.
  • An angel came to Joseph and warned him. Talk about angels. Look at pictures of angels.
  • Make cookies with an angel cookie cutter.  

Prayer to your guardian angel: O Angel of Christ, holy guardian and protector of my soul and body, forgive me everything wherein I have offended thee every day of my life, and protect me from all influence and temptation of the evil one. Amen.
