Objectives:

  1. Children should be able to say “ordain” or “ordination” and know its meaning.
  2. Children should be able to identify deacons, priests, and bishops and their roles.
  3. Children should recognize the liturgical colors for each season.

 

Possible lesson plan:

  1. Open with prayer.

 

  1. Ask the children how someone becomes a priest or a bishop?  Teach them the words “ordain” and “ordination”.

Home Activities:

  • Work with your child on the words “ordain” and “ordination”.
  • Send a special Thank you note to Father, to the bishop?
  • Do the paper doll to remember the vestments.

  1. Students should be able to say “requiem” and know what it means.
  2. Students should be able to sing “Memory Eternal”.

  1. Open with prayer.

 

  1. Discuss with students the meaning of death.  Do they know anyone who has died?  How did it make them feel?  Why are they sad?
