HANUKKAH

 

Home Activities:

  • Yes, you can celebrate Hanukkah at home even in June.
  • Make potato latkes (pancakes, available in the Jewish section in the supermarket, instant!)
  • Light your candles.
  • Puzzle and coloring sheet.
  • Play with the dreidl you made in class (older classes). Have fun!

Prayer: May the Light of the World bring light into our lives as He did at Hanukkah.

Objectives:

  1. Children should be able to identify Haggai as a prophet who spoke for God.
  2. Children should know that Haggai lived just before the time of Esther.
  3. Children should know that Haggai told the people to rebuild His temple.

Objectives:

  1. Children should know that God created the world.
  2. Children should be able to tell the story of Creation and what was created on which day.

 

Possible lesson plan:

Adam and Eve and the Fall

ADAM AND EVE AND THE FALL

 

Objectives:

1.   Children should be able to identify Adam and Eve by name.

2.   Children should be able to tell the story of the Fall.

3.   Children should identify Satan, the snake.

 

Possible Lesson Plan:

  1. Open with prayer.

 

  1. Tell the story of Adam and Eve from the Beginner’s Bible, pages 14-25, or the Children’s Bible Reader, pp.21-22.

    Add Adam and Eve to your timeline.

Noah

NOAH

Objectives:

  1. Children should be able to tell the story of Noah and the ark.
  2. Children should identify the Great Flood and its significance.
  3. Children should know God’s meaning for a rainbow.

Possible Lesson Plan:

  1. Open with prayer.
  2. Tell the story from the Beginner’s Bible, pp 26-33, First Bible, pp 14-21, or the Children’s Bible Reader, pages 24-27.
