Adam and Eve and the Fall
Objectives:
1. Children should be able to identify Adam and Eve by name.
2. Children should be able to tell the story of the Fall.
3. Children should identify Satan, the snake.
Possible Lesson Plan:
- Open with prayer.
- Tell the story of Adam and Eve from the Beginner’s Bible, pages 14-25, or the Children’s Bible Reader, pp.21-22.
Continue your timeline with Adam and Eve.
- Finish your responsive story, with the smiley faces:
Teacher: But God was not finished; He thought He’d make a man. He named the man Adam and gave Him all the land. And God said:
Children: “This is VERY good!”
Teacher: From Adam’s rib, God made a wife. Eve was her name and God gave her life. And God said:
Children: “This is VERY good!”
Teacher: And God created _______(child’s name). And God said:
Children: “This is VERY good!”

- Ask the children: Why did God create people? How can people help God?
Discuss disobedience: Do we ever disobey our parents? God? Why is it so easy to disobey when we know better? Why do we choose to disobey? What happens when we disobey?
- Make a Rigatoni Snake: Make colorful rigatoni with magic markers or food coloring. Tie 18-inch piece of yarn around one noodle; decorate this piece with eyes to be the head. String rest of yarn with rigatoni, tying a ½-inch jingle bell on the end as a tail.
OK, so you’re pressed for time and don’t have noodles. No problem: Use those ubiquitous toilet paper tubes that are already some shade of gray or brown, color them a bit with markers or sharpies, add wiggle eyes and tongue from construction paper or pipe cleaner, use string or yarn to thread the sections, and you’re in business with a really BIG, SCARY realistic snake. You can still end with jingle bell tail so the snake will rattle.
